Ancient Egypt webcast
Parkhall Primary School,
Antrim
June 5th-6th, 2007
The P5 class at Parkhall Primary School in Antrim will produced their own 30 minute programme about Ancient Egypt on the Internet on Wednesday June 6, involving a live link-up with an Egyptologist from the World Museum in Liverpool .
The live webcast was seen by pupils in schools across the Province and throughout the world who have studied the topic this year as well as by parents and the wider public.
Each of the 27 pupils in the class had a role to play from the presenters Kate Peden and Sarah Louise Douglas to studio guest Sarah Ingram, a P6 pupil who went to Egypt for her holidays recently. The other children acted as director, producer, production assistant, floor manager, camera operator, autocue or sound technician using the facilities on the North Eastern Education and Library Board’s Outside Broadcast Unit – “the Truck” which had a satellite link to HP in Belfast and the C2K network via Germany and London.
